For over thirty years Peter A. Cole, the principal of Cole Consulting, has used a holistic, integrative approach to help a multitude of diverse organizations successfully grow their businesses. He has founded and led three successful
businesses and numerous community-based organizations, in addition to serving in senior management positions and providing executive coaching services for companies ranging in size from a handful of employees to Fortune 50 companies. Peter spent seven years in the education field before becoming an energy management consultant, a career he pursued for seventeen years, primarily in leadership roles.
It was in this role, part internal leader, part external consultant, that Peter discovered his love for helping organizations transform themselves into learning communities. He has been in private practice as an organizational development consultant since 1994, focusing in the areas of strategic planning, executive coaching and business development. He is certified in the Lominger Voices™ 360° Review assessment tools, has been an advisor in Vermont Sustainable Job Fund's Peer to Peer Collaborative (which assists founder CEOs in identifying, focusing on & addressing the critical issues & strategic direction choices that inevitably arise as a company grows), and is a longstanding member of ASTD. Cole Consulting believes in giving back to our community and has made a special commitment to public education. Peter Cole served on the South Burlington School Board, the Essex Junction /Burlington Technical Advisory Board, chaired a Citizens Committee on School Capacity, was a founding member and chair of the South Burlington Business/Education Partnership for seven years, and served for four years on the Vermont Standards Board for Professional Educators (an organization responsible for licensing all of Vermont's teachers & administrators, helping with their professional development, and for approving higher education's educator preparation programs). Cole Consulting is a member of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility and the American Society for Training and Development.
